Share the Gospel With Children

This Christmas there will be an empty seat at the dinner table in thousands of homes. Perhaps a broken marriage has split a family. In some cases a child has run away in rebellion–an act that may mask a desperate cry for help. Maybe tensions over changing values and lifestyles have pushed apart loved ones who once were close.

But it’s not just our homes and families. There are children missing from the family of God. Thousands of kids are lost in the world without the knowledge of Jesus Christ. These children have no hope whatever, and Jesus means nothing to them.

Don’t you think God would like these children to come home for Christmas?

This Christmas you can make a huge difference in the largest child evangelism effort ever sponsored by the Review and Herald Publishing Association.

Our goal in this evangelistic effort is to reach one million children for Christ. Young people in the preteen age group are at a critical juncture in their spiritual development. Before kids are 14, they are in the process of gathering information and making decisions that will affect their view of God and Christianity for the rest of their lives.

Real magazine reaches children who have little or no knowledge of the Bible to help start their spiritual journey. They may think “Daniel in the lion’s den” is a rock band. Real magazine is here to open their eyes so that they can see a loving God.

This missionary endeavor is produced by the staff of Guide, a favorite publication of Adventist kids. Real includes character-building true stories that point to Jesus, practical Bible studies, astonishing facts, an advice column, and more. Real may be the only chance some children have to meet their Savior.

We are sending free gift subscriptions of Real to children whose names we receive. Certainly you know of young people in your neighborhood who need to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. Perhaps there are children in your own family who are not receiving the spiritual nurture they need. Real is an ideal tool to connect them with Jesus.

We’re also counting on churches, schools, Pathfinder clubs, and an army of kids to help us distribute Real magazines without charge to children who don’t know about Jesus and His second coming. Already thousands of copies have been given away at community events and door-to-door.

The Review and Herald is counting on caring adults to help reach these spiritually starving children! This ambitious project requires faith and a financial commitment. An individual copy of Real costs approximately 66 cents, including postage. A gift of $100 provides 150 single copies of Real magazine.

You may choose to send us names and addresses of children you know to receive free subscriptions, or you may leave it up to us to make that decision. “Real magazine has many requests from people who can’t afford a donation, but want to subscribe for children they love,” says editor Randy Fishell. “Also, we are sending bulk quantities of Real to churches and other organizations that ask for copies to use in outreach. We are stepping out in faith, trusting that as these truth-filled magazines go out, the funds will come in.”

To find out more about Real, visit www.sharereal.org. You’ll find opportunities to enter names of children to receive the free magazine, as well as links to send a tax-deductible gift to us before the end of year.
